Head of Depositary M/F
THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the established Luxembourg entity and become a key senior member of our team further developing the business. As Head of Depositary, you will be responsible for leading the Depositary function and managing the end-to-end Depositary activity for the business. The role reports directly to the Luxembourg CEO and oversees a team of around 10 people.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Refine operating procedures relating to the depositary services offering including identification of target investments
- Identify and analyze the client requests in line with our expertise and standards
- Analyze the look-through provisions at onboarding stage
- Write out and negotiate agreements and contracts
- Assume responsibility for the safe keeping of fund assets and supervision on tangible assets, whether through custody or more general verification of ownership
- Liaise with the risk and compliance functions responsible to make sure the corporate and regulated obligations are covered
- Review and control relevant regulatory developments
- Supervise, with support of an administrator, the follow up of day-to-day duties: cash flow monitoring, reports, minutes
- Maintain accurate and up to date records ensuring all statutory obligations are met
- File and record all legal documentation as required by CSSF requirements/ Luxembourg Law
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION
- Degree educated in Business Management, Law, Economics or equivalent
- Have a deep knowledge and at least 10 years relevant experience in the Depositary function with focus on alternative investments (knowledge of UCITS is an asset)
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset
- Proven experience in managing a team and working within the trust and company environment at a higher senior level
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the client strategies, relationship management, including contractual and statutory obligations related to Luxembourg regulated investment funds
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in process and procedures in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including contributing to and being part of a strong team spirit
- Client-oriented with ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties
- Ability to work autonomously, taking full ownership of assigned responsibilities with a commitment to delivering high quality work
- Excellent organizational skills complemented by a “can do” attitude
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and to work under pressure
- Ability to analyse and apply a large volume of technical data, and translate into simple language for a non-specialist audience for reporting purposes
